SUMMER GARDEN COLLECTION AND PARISIAN PEONIES LAND FRIDAY 26 APRIL

What can cause a candle to spoil?

If you want to make your candles last well without losing their gorgeous fragrance, then it's important to know how to store and position them properly.

There are three things you need to keep candles away from:

1. High temperatures
Store your candles in in a cool place. If it's too warm the wax may soften and cause the fragrance to deteriorate.

2. Water
Candles should always be kept as dry as possible. Bathrooms and kitchens have higher levels of moisture than other rooms in the house, so it’s best not to store candles in these areas.

3. Sunlight
Avoid placing your candle by a window. When a candle is positioned close to direct sunlight, it causes oxidation which spoils the fragrance oils in the wax and so the scent of your candle may fade much more quickly than it should.

Look after your candles and they really will thank you for it.
